Sheffield Swim Team Wins TVC Championships Five Years in a Row

Cullman, AL July 7th, 2007: For the fifth consecutive season Sheffield swimmers dominate in the Pool.

At the 2007 Tennessee Valley Conference Championships (TVC) held at Cullman swim pool, the Sheffield Swim Team (SST) sent 53 swimmers, winning its fifth straight TVC Championships. SST claimed a total 16 of 18 participated relay events metals - 8 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals, and a total 43 individual events medals including 17 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze medals.

“SST has great and strong swimmers”, hosting swim team coach praised.

“It is not a coincident that SST won the championship for the fifth straight year”, happy head coach Mr. Jerry Mills said, “SST worked hard and they deserved it. Our long time swimmers claimed the most medal, our newer swimmers were great additions to the winning. Everyone did fabulous at the meet. It was a total team effort that earned SST the title again. I am very proud of SST”.

“We are thankful to parents’ support to the team”, assistant coach Mrs. Holley Randolph added, “Thanks to volunteer coach Miss Stormi Spencer who helped extensively to the team. Special appreciation goes to the Sheffield Park and Recreation Department and director Mr. Mike Johnson, who have been supportive to SST excessively.
